She is professor of allergology and clinical immunology at the Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. She works as the director of the Hungarian Angioedema Center. Her PhD is in ENT. Her DSc in clinical immunology and allergy, awarded by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. She received Semmelweis University ‘Jendrassik’ Award in 2005, ‘L’Oréal-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science’ in 2013, International HAE Working Group For HAE Patients Award in 2013 and in 2017 Hilfenhaus Award from Plasma protein Therapeutic Association. She is member of the Committee of the Hungarian Allergology and Clinical Immunology Society, the Hungarian Professional College of Immunology & Allergology, Medical Advisory Board of International Patient Organization for C1-Inhibitor Deficiencies, International HAE Working Group and the World Allergy Organization Steering Committee for Angioedema. She is founder of the International C1-Inhibitor Deficiency Workshop and founder of the HAENETWORK Project. She supervises the projects of 35 student scientists, and she is the tutor of six PhD students. Her research is focused on the different types of angioedema.
